Implementation of Subsurface Well Master Data Management:- Establishing a subsurface Well Master Data Management framework has materially improved data quality and data integrity across Oxy’s E&P systems. Our MDM implementation has optimized data flows ensuring the right data, is in the right place, at the right time to support the Geoscience disciplines. Project scope includes the definition of System of Records(SoR) for each well data type (e.g. well headers, locations, completions, perforations, production, and petrophysical data). It also includes the automation of data workflows within Geoscience (source databases to user projects such as OpenWorks and Petrel Studio) using optimized industry Business Rules for unique, valid, and consistent delivery organization. The automation of subsurface well data has significantly enhanced technical analysis accuracy and options. Key benefits of Automation include: Easy access to higher quality and reliable information, generating better decisions based on more accurate data and information by geoscientists Oxy and competitor well data is in the right place (centralized, searchable, accessible) to support G&G technical staff Minimized non-productive time (NPT) wasted in manual search, access, and loading, The Geotechnical staff focuses on higher-value work Automation has eliminated data and database corruptions, reducing higher operational cost Data standards implementation - Units, CRS, Dictionary Definitions, API (UWI), Well Name (Automation Name), Well Number, Operator Name, Wellbore Type (H,P,V) ,and many more elements are defined and automatically QC’d, hence boosting the trust in data.
