The traditional data warehouse has been the “single source of the truth” for oil and gas companies for many years. But given the advent of unstructured and other types of data, the traditional data warehouse has lost its stature because it cannot house those data or has become too expensive to store them.  Many companies have added data lakes to store these other data types, but in the process have created many data silos. Gartner has proposed using logical data warehouse as the new data management trend to gaining the single source of the truth for future analytical architectures. But what is this “logical data warehouse?” In this session, the presenter will introduce this concept, and discuss what analysts say about it, how it works, and which oil and gas customers use it successfully.
